After the anniversary opening, Mr.Nguyen Thang Long, in his speech, recalled the path of establishment, growth and expressed development orientation of the Company in the future. On July 11, 2003, the Company was granted issued the Business Registration Certificate by Hanoi Authority of Planning and Invetsment and officially came into operation with the initial name of Viet-Lao Power Investment and Development Joint Stock Company. In the early days of the establishment with the charter capital of 1,080 billion VND and only 10 personnel, up to present, the Company has increased its charter capital to 5,300 billion VND and become the Investor of such big hydropower projects as Xekaman 3, Xekaman 1, Xekaman 4, Dak E Meule and a real estate project in the Lao PDR. The brand name “Viet-Lao Power” has been heard about in domestic and foreign. The General Director expressed his sincere thanks to all personnel of the Company, for the last 6 years, for their active work, initiative, solidarity, and their overcoming difficulties and challenges, developing the Company into the present position.

      In his speech of birthday congratulations, Mr.Thai Son – Chairman of BOD of the Company appreciated the achievements the collective and individual personnel recorded in the last 6 years: the prize “Typical Entrepreneur of Vietnam – Laos – Cambodia” given to the Company, the prize “Typical Entrepreneur of Vietnam – Laos – Cambodia” to the General Director Nguyen Thang Long, Certificate of Merit by the Prime Minister, the titles “Best Labour Collective”, "Emulation Fighter of the branch-level", Certificate of Merit etc. issued by the Ministry of Construction to many collectives and individuals. He also expressed a desire that all the personnel would continue to develop the spirit of work, initiative, solidarity to help the Company reach many new acievements, get many noble titles, become the leading foreign investment enterprise in Lao market, which would push the bilateral relations to a new high, bring better life to people of the both countries.

      At the anniversary, the prizes of the Slogan Competition launched from March, 2009 by the Company were awarded to the wining collectives and individuals of the Company:

      Two second prizes were awarded to the following winners: Dao Hai Anh – an official of Xekaman 1 Hydropower Project Unit and the collective of Administration Office.

      Two third prizes were given to Mr.Tran The Anh and the collective of Viet-Lao Power Building Co.Ltd.

      Three consolation prizes were given to the authors: Le Anh Duy – Technical Department, Nguyen Trong Hien – Planning Economic Department and Hoang Lan Phuong – Law Consulting Department.
