Xekaman 1 Hydropower Project
Xekaman 1 Hydropower Project has the total investment capital of $441 billion with the total installed capacity of 322MW.The Project is located on the downstream of Xekaman River, including 02 levels: the upper is Xekaman 1 Hydropower Plant and the lower is Xekaman Sanxay Hydropower Plant.

Detailed information of the Project:
+ Xekaman 1 Hydropower Plant has the installed capacity of 290MW including 02 plant units, each has the capacity of 145MW. The plant uses the Francis-vertical axis turbine; Normal storage water level is 230m; Dead water level is 218m; Catchment area is 3,580km2; Reservoir areas at the normal water level is 149.8km2 ; Construction period is 5 years; Annual electric output is 1,096.56 million kWh.

+ Xekaman SanXay Hydropower Plant has the installed capacity of 32MW including 02 plant units, each has the capacity of 16MW. The plant uses the Cable-horizontal axis turbine; Normal storage water level is 124m; Dead water level is 122.5m; Catchment area is 3,740 km2; Reservoir areas at the normal water level is 1.76km2; Construction period is 3 years; Annual electric output is 131.2 million kWh.

- NPV: 4,650,000USD
- FIRR: 11.65%
- Payback period: 12 years
Xekaman 1 Hydropower Project is invested in the form of B.O.T with 30 year term. Capital contribution structure: VLPC contributes 75%, The Government of Laos contributes 25%.
The Project is located in Sanxay and Sayxettha District, Attapeu Province, about 100 km far from Vietnam - Lao Border (the Bo Y - Phu Cua Border Gates), connected by the National Road 40 of Vietnam and National Road 18B of Laos.
The Project was commenced on March 6, 2011 and the Unit 1 shall be expected to be generated in early 2015.
